How We Started
The day after he graduated high school, co-founder Beau Ragland got on a plane to Europe. He was traveling solo--friends from his small town in Iowa were going to travel with him but backed out because they thought it'd be too expensive. He took the leap anyway.
Almost two months later, he returned home with memories to last a lifetime. In total, he visited 16 countries and spent less than $3,000–an amount most can make with a summer job. Later talking to the same friends, they regretted not joining.
Heading off to Yale University at the end of that summer, he realized there was an opportunity for more people to travel if they knew it could be done affordably.
Voyista was soon founded with the help of Robert Jett, a Yale classmate from Maryland. The two traveled to over 50 countries while in college to research and build Voyista.
Voyista is a tool that enables you to see the world seamlessly, taking advantage of the thousands of hours of research we've done and the lessons we've learned.
Travel has changed our lives. We hope it can change yours too.
Each of our team members agree that some of the largest intrapersonal growth we've experienced has come while away from home. Travel is something that grows you as a person and broadens your perspective--we think it's something everyone should experience.
